No Styrofoam allowed!!

According to www.encarta.com, “styrofoam” is defined as a trademark for a light plastic material used to make disposable items, insulation, and packing materials. My definition?? A typically white foam like material that makes a horrible rasping sound when ever it is rubbed!
I don’t think that people realize just how much this material labeled as styrofoam gets to me!! I get goose-bumps every time it gets rubbed together or against something else. The weirdest part of it all is that I gag when I hear it and I have hardly any gag reflexes for anything else, even the nasty gory stuff. What gets me the most is when you get a package in the mail and its wrapped all in styrofoam and packed in a box as tight as you can so it is extra hard to get out and makes that horrible screeching noise!
Do nails on a chalkboard get me? Nah, I could listen to it all day long! I know I am weird, but its fine. Thats just a little phobia I have and I am having a hard growing up and getting over it!

I have another little phobia, and that is bare feet against my bare legs. Nasty! Keep those feet to yourself please!! Or at least put socks on or something!

That was our plan.. but..

Sometimes things don’t always go according to plan…
Marlee and I were going to do a story about the Jason Aldean (amazing country singer) concert at the Shrine Mosque. Well first Marlee ends up only being able to go for 30 minutes to interview people so I have to recruit Brittney to help me. Then as me and Brittney are walking into the concert, the guy who set this all up for us decides that our little camera is too big. Apparently it would look like a professional from the stage.. hmm.. these cameras are not even close to being “big”. And so that kind of just ruined our whole story and to top this night off, I locked my keys in my car!! That was only my second time ever and I have been driving for over a year (knock on wood). But that just didn’t help our already ruined night.
So there goes that story idea. Marlee then finds another story. The BMX track that her little brother races at was getting completely torn up and rebuilt all in one week. Sure its not a great story but if anything it would have been visually appealing. The date that they were supposed to start this reconstruction kept getting pushed back, closer to our deadline (nerve-wracking). Coach eases our nerves by coming up with the idea to film all the reconstruction and wait to complete the story in April when kids will be using their new track. That helps, but in all irony of course, right after that discussion, the guy rebuilding the track calls to tell us he will be beginning the very next morning!!
So after all these tried attempts that have led to failure ;) Marlee and I are going to do a story about the Rake and Run. Woot! Woot! Right?
But like I said, things don’t always go to plan so who knows what is going to happen. Its all apart of the fun about being in HTV.

How Bob asked Shirley..

Well it is here… homecoming. The first dance of the school year. It’s a chance for the boys to take all the glammed-up gals out to a nice dinner and then back to the school to dance the night away!
One thing that most of the girls look forward to is the surprise of who is going to ask them and more importantly, HOW. So the point of writing all this is so that I can share a story with who ever doesn’t have a life and spends their time reading pointless blogs.

For the sake of getting made fun of, all names have been changed.

There is a girl named Shirley. Shirley was getting very anxious at the thought of homecoming. She was very excited to find out who was going to ask her and how this special guy was going to do it. Time after time, she watched all her friends get asked in the cutest ways. While anticipating it to be her turn, she secretly wished that this guy, Bob, would be the one to ask her!
One Sunday night while texting Bob, he unexpectedly popped Shirely the question.. “Will you go to homecoming with me?” Yes my readers, Bob asked Shirley to homecoming via text message.
Ok, so its not that Shirley was mad about this, just a little let down. Its a good thing that it was Bob who asked her because anybody else probably would have got rejected :) . Shirley liked giving Bob a hard time about this because it really wasn’t that big of deal to her. One night after a volleyball game, Mark overheard their conversation and decided to make a big deal of it! Well Mark made Bob feel really bad. Bob looked at Shirley and said, “We are no longer going to homecoming together. Don’t get a date though, I am going to make this up to you!”
Shirley tried to convince him that it wasn’t necessary but she was extremely taken by his eagerness to do the right thing for her.
After a few days of sneaking ideas around with her friends, Bob finally made it up to Shirley. Shirley walked out to her car one day after school only partially expecting what she found (believe it or not, kids in high school can not keep secrets). On her car was some writing and in her front seat was a beautiful yellow rose and a teddy bear. The teddy bear had fake roses on its paw and had on aviators (just like Bob always does) and it had a note that said, “Homecoming?”
Shirley ran up to Bob and told him, “NO!”
Ok, that is obviously a joke! She really gave him a big hug and said, “Yes!”
So in the end Shirley got what she wanted. Her ideal date and he asked in a cute way. Heck, he is such a great date he asked twice! ;)
